Pastel Silhouettes - First Light Landscapes

First light is the start of what many call magic hour or golden hour. These are the best times at the start and at the end of the day to shoot photos or video. The quality of the light is at its best creating the most artistic and amazing opportunities.

I hiked to the top of a local butte to photograph the sunrise over the mountains this past weekend. The first light was almost more exciting than the sunrise. The landscape became more like fine art as the pastel silhouettes layered as far as the eye can see with their colors ever changing with the rising of the sun.
